Birmingham’s celebrated Leftfoot is back with its spring and summer season of shows, once more joining the dots across a vibrant spectrum of sounds; covering everything from house, disco and techno to jazz, soul and dub, the long-running show embraces the very best of the electronic music world’s stellar names and up and coming talent. It’s this spirit of diversity which underpins Leftfoot’s ethos, foundations which have seen its continued rise over the years in the city into one of the UK’s most revered parties, with its three resident DJs – Adam Regan, Matthew Beck and Tom Hopkins – shaping the eclectic musical blueprint.
Once more working with some of the city’s leading underground promoters including Shadow City, Moodfix and Listening Sessions, plus festival brands Chapter XIII and Love International, Leftfoot are very proud to announce a series of ten genre-skipping shows flitting between the intimate magic of the Hare and Hounds and the more capacious club setting at The Rainbow, featuring incredible sound and different rooms to programme.
Starting on Friday 24th March, Leftfoot and Shadow City present the revered crate-digger Young Marco and Dekmantel Soundsystem at Rainbow Venues; then Saturday 8th April sees the brilliant Nightmares on Wax at the Hare and Hounds, supported by the Leftfoot residents; and a week later there’s a huge party in store, as one of the real DJs of the moment, The Black Madonna, is joined by Midland, Gerd Janson, Mark E and the Leftfoot DJs at the Rainbow Warehouse, for an epic all day party as part of Chapter XIII Festival.
On Saturday 22nd April it’s the Eglo Records’ 8th birthday party, with founder Alexander Nut joined by esteemed label names Henry Wu and Steve Spacek; jumping into May, on the 26th Leftfoot & Listening Sessions present Digital Mystikz’s Mala with support from their residents, and on Sunday 28th May it’s a free bank holiday special with Leftfoot and Shadow City’s residents at the helm. Just days later on Thursday 1st June, there’s a mouth-watering live show with Australian disco minimalist Harvey Sutherland and Bermuda are in support.
There follows with Shadow City on Monday 5th June Peggy Gou, the Leftfoot DJs and Shadow City Soundsystem on the Rainbow Rooftop, then on Saturday 17th June it’s 4-Hero’s Dego on deck duty with the Leftfoot and Moodfix residents. Then the final party departs Birmingham and makes the joyous journey to Croatia’s sunnier climes for the 2nd Love International Festival on the Adriatic coast. The Leftfoot and Studio Barnhus boat party with label founder Axel Boman, Kornel Kovacs and the Leftfoot DJs promises to be very special.
From September onwards Leftfoot have some very special Hare and Hounds 10th anniversary shows to be revealed, and two more epic Rainbow Warehouse and Blackbox shows are taking place in October and December, which will be announced later in the year.
